What is a Claim?
A claim is a demand for repair of damaged articles or compensation in money
made by the consignor / consignee on account of incomplete or part
performance of the transportcontract.
The source of claims origin represents Services, where care and caution
have to be exercised.They are :-
- Booking, initial documentation and pre-loading cargo and vehicle
inspection.
- Loading, stacking and covering the cargo at the point of origin.
- Taking necessary care and protection for the cargo in transit.
- Taking adequate care in loading, unloading, warehousing and reloading
at trasnhipment points.
- Taking proper care in unloading at the destination.
